i-Free tallies up its 2009 Highlights of the Mobile VAS and Content Market survey

St. Petersburg, Russia, 2 March 2010. i-Free, a leading provider of mobile content services in Russia and the CIS,* has reported the results of its 2009 Highlights of the Mobile VAS and Content Market survey, conducted on its corporate website: www.i-free.com. The majority of those polled voted for “affordable mobile service packages with unlimited Internet” as the greatest highlight of the year 2009.

i-Free ran its 2009 Highlights of the Mobile Value Added Services and Content Market survey to find out what the market professionals and industry watchers had to say.

Over 30% of the survey participants polled thought the launch of affordable mobile service packages with unlimited Internet access by MTS and MegaFon was the best thing that happened in the industry last year, closely followed by “more SmartPhones on the market” and the arrival of the appstores of major vendors, such as Nokia OVI (28% of those polled).
More than 18% of the audience noted the significant role of purchases and alliances in the mobile retail market, and the arrival of customized operator-brand phones. Somewhat lesser significance was afforded to such events as the launch of a WAP and GPRS traffic-sharing model by Beeline (13% of the audience) and the emergence of operator-side web projects like Omelet on MTS (11%).
